We were back to our regular venue for tonight's races ……… almost! They ran fewer cars in some of the heat races, which meant there were a few extra races tonight. Everything went smoothly, and even with the few extra races, we were done pretty early (unlike last week's "Quick Draw 45"!). The weather was GREAT, and so was the racing, and it was an action filled night from start to finish!

My apologies to the E-Mod drivers, I missed most of the action during their heat races tonight. I was extremely late getting to the track tonight, and only caught the tail end of the last heat race. I would like to congratulate the top finishers in E-Mod Heat #1. The #12J of Joe Wagner finished in 1st place, followed by the #5 of Jake Helfers in 2nd, and the #52 of Don Entrekin in 3rd. E-Mod Heat #2 winner was the #28 of Phil Schnarr, followed by the #27W of Greg Ward in 2nd, and the #96 of Kirk Anderson in 3rd. The #29 of Chad Terwillger scored the win in E-Mod Heat #2, followed by the #M17 of Brent Munson in 2nd place, and the #4 of John Winters in 3rd place.

The #14 of George Collins was out front from start to finish to score the win in Thunder Truck Heat #1, followed by the #1 of Doug Pratt in 2nd place. Harry Fourdyce led Thunder Truck Heat #2 from flag to flag to score another heat race win for the #31 team. The #8 of Dave Collins started in the very back of the field, but Collins was able to avoid trouble and race his way to a 2nd place finish. The #29 of David Boyer had some trouble on the last lap, and had a flat tire, but he was able to make it across the start/finish line and bring home a 3rd place finish.

The #98S of Scott May started 2nd in Modified Heat #1, but he was quickly under the pole sitter, the #M21 of Justin Munson, an in the lead to score lap #1. Munson and the #48 of Casey Lappin battled side-by-side for the 2nd spot, with the #C40 of Mike Chasteen closing in on them in a hurry. Once out front, Scott May stayed out front, and scored the Heat win for the #98S team. The #C40 of Mike Chasteen finished in 2nd, followed by the #48 of Casey Lappin in 3rd, and the #24 of Jerry Stringham in 4th. The #96 of Kirk Anderson started Modified Heat #2 on the pole, and he stayed out front from start to finish for the win. The #28 of "Jammin" Jimmy Hibser made a GREAT last lap pass to take home the 2nd place finish, followed by the #17 of Rick Scott, Jr. in 3rd, and the #22B of Richie Biswell in 4th. The #31 of Mark Anderson started back in 7th spot in Modified Heat #3, but by lap #2, was up to 4th behind the #420 of John Eppers and the #28 of Phil Schnarr. Anderson made a GREAT move in turns #1 and #2, and dove between Eppers and Schnarr for the 2nd spot, and quickly set his sights on the race leader, the #20 of Ed Barth. Mark Anderson took the lead at the white flag, and he stayed out front to take home the checkered for the #31 race team. The #42 of Matt Smith finished in 2nd place, followed by the #28 of Phil Schnarr in 3rd, and the #7 of Floyd Jordan in 3rd.

The #27 of Greg Arnett started on the pole in the Pro Street Heat race, and Arnett kept his #27 Pro Street out front from start to finish. They were swappin' spots back and forth behind Arnett, with the #81K of Mark Ross and the #18 of Terry Pratt racing each other hard trying to sort our 2nd place. Pratt was finally able to get around Ross and take over 2nd on lap #4, and it was single-filed to the checkered flag from there. The #27 of Greg Arnett took home the Pro Street Heat race win, followed by the #18 of Terry Pratt in 2nd, the #81K of Mark Ross in 3rd, and the #12Y of Tom Turnbull in 4th.

The #41 of Tom Wirebaugh started on out front in Late Model Heat #1, and out front is exactly where Wirebaugh finished. Tom Wirebaugh led the entire race from start to finish, and scored the heat race win for the #41 Late Model team. The #B12 of Roger Nelson finished the race in 2nd place, followed by the #C66 of Carl Runge in 3rd place. The #30 of Rob Bauman lined up 2nd in Late Model Heat #2, just behind the #11 of Brad Denney. Bauman showed Denney his nose on the start, but that was the last that Denney saw of anyone! "Bad" Brad Denney "checked out" on the rest of the field, and had NO trouble winning Late Model Heat #2. Bauman and the #10M of Chad Pratt raced each other for the 2nd spot, but Rob Bauman was able to hold off the challenge and finished in 2nd with his #30 Late Model, followed by the #10M of Chad Pratt in 3rd. The #M40 of Scott "Scooter" May lined up in 2nd to start Late Model Heat #3, but by the time they reached the first turn, May was in the lead - and he was in the lead to stay! By the end of the race , Scott May had an entire straightaway lead over the rest of the field, and easily took his #M40 Late Model to victory lane. The #4C of Rob Colson finished in 2nd place, followed by the #45 of Dwayne Walters in 3rd.

The #06 of John Nash, Jr. started Hobo Heat race #1 back in the 3rd spot, but Nash was up to 2nd on the 1st lap, and just 2 laps later he was up front in the lead, and he was in the lead to stay. John Nash, Jr. took home the win in Hobo Heat #1 in his #06 car. The #J18 of Dan Gebhardt finished in 2nd, followed by the #02 of Greg Sullivan in 3rd. The #68 of Lance Alcorn and the #19 of Durland Pople ran the first 3 laps of Hobo Heat #2 in 1st and 2nd, but on lap #3, something obviously went away on both cars, and both Alcorn and Pople took their cars to the pits, leaving only 2 cars out on the track. The #23B of Clint Rich scored the Heat race win, followed by the #11 of Scott Denney in 2nd. Only two cars were left at the end of Hobo Heat #3 also. The #42 of Tim Bishop and the #91 of Nick Christian were racing for position coming out of turn #4, when contact between the two sent them both HARD into the front stretch wall, causing both cars to leave the race with MAJOR damage. Surviving Hobe Heat #3 up front was Josh Smith, scoring another win for the #35 racing team. The #48 of Jackie Williams finished in 2nd place.

The #96 of Kirk Anderson jumped out front for an early lead in the E-Mod Feature, but the #M3 of Chuck McDonald and the #4 of John Winters were ALL OVER his back bumper in the first few laps. By lap #3, the #28 of Phil Schnarr was also joining in the battle behind Anderson for the 2nd spot. Schnarr and Winters weren't content with 2nd spot, and by lap #5, both cars were around Anderson and were up front racing for the lead. The #M17 of Brent Munson started the race from the back, but Munson had been gaining a spot or two every lap, and was quickly closing in on the top 5. Caution came out on lap #6, and Munson was able to use the restart to his advantage. Munson got a GREAT jump on the restart, making his way around several cars and into a battle with McDonald for the 4th spot. By lap #7, Winters, Anderson, and Schnarr were racing THREE WIDE through the turns, all fighting for the top spot, with Munson right behind them, just waiting for an opportunity to open up in front of him. By lap #8, the #27W of Greg Ward had made his way to the front, joining in a three-way battle for 3rd with Munson and Schnarr. Caution came out on lap #9 when contact between the race leaders, Winters and Anderson, sent Winters spinning in turns #3 & #4. Winters kept his spot, and Anderson was sent to the back for the restart, but Anderson didn't stay in the back for long. By lap #11, Anderson had made his way through traffic and was back up to the 6th spot behind the #29 of Chad Terwillger. Caution came out again on lap #11, and this time, Terwillger was able to capitalize on the restart. Terwillger got a GREAT start on the restart, carried a lot of momentum into the corner, and came out of turn #2 like a bullet - driving his car in between Munson and Schnarr, and taking over the 2nd position down the backstretch. Terwilliger quickly set his sights on the race lead, and by lap #12, Terwillger was on the outside of Winters and into the lead. With everyone racing side-by-side for position behind him, Terwillger was able to open up a nice lead for himself, and Chad Terwillger raced his way to victory lane in his #29 car, scoring tonight's E-Mod Feature win. The #M17 of Brent Munson finished in 2nd place, followed by the #27W of Greg Ward in 3rd, the #28 of Phil Schnarr in 4th, and the #4 of John Winters in 5th. Tonight's E-Mod Feature was ALL "MRE Race Cars". Four out of the top five cars (Chad Terwillger, Brent Munson, Greg Ward, and John Winters) were all driving MRE chassis, and rumor has it that Phil Schnarr will also be sporting a new MRE E-Mod chassis next season! GREAT JOB GUYS & Congratulations to the entire MRE racing team!!!!

The #31 of Harry Fourdyce lined up in the 2nd spot for the Thunder Truck feature, but before they scored lap #1, Fourdyce was around the pole sitter, the #14 of George Collins, and was in the lead. Moving up in a hurry from a 4th place start was the #8 of Dave Collins. Collins was up to 2nd by a lap #1 restart, and was ALL OVER Fourdyce's back bumper for several laps, trying to take over the lead position. Also moving through traffic in a hurry was the #88 of Dave Collins. The #88 started the race way back in the 6th spot, but by lap #1, he was up into the top four, and was challenging the #14 and #8 for position. The #29 of David Boyer was also on the move, taking 4th spot away from the #87 of Rick Huffman on lap #6, and setting his sights on the top 3. Boyer got a GREAT run down the front stretch to score lap #6, and was able to take the 2nd spot away from Collins coming out of turn #3. Caution came out on lap #7, putting Huffman back in front of Boyer on the restart, and Huffman wasn't going to let Boyer get around him again. Up front, Collins was still ALL OVER the back bumper of Fourdyce - he could follow him, but he couldn't pass him! Harry Fourdyce led every lap of the race in his #31 Thunder Truck, and he scored a very strong win for the #31 team. The #8 of Dave Collins finished the Feature in 2nd place, followed by the #87 of Rick Huffman in 3rd place, the #29 of David Boyer in 4th place, and the #14 of George Collins in 5th place.

We had several cautions early in tonight's Modified Feature event, and I'm not surprised that we didn't have more! The Modifieds did what I didn't think could be done - they raced each other FIVE WIDE through turns #1 & #2, and everyone made it through clean!! The #28 of "Jammin" Jimmy Hibser started the race in the 2nd position, but he was around the pole sitter, the #42 of Matt Smith, and in the lead before they even scored the first lap. Also on the move on the very 1st lap was the #31 of Mark Anderson. Anderson, who started in 4th, was up to the 2nd spot by lap #2, and ALL OVER Hibser's back bumper. Caution came on lap #3 when contact between the #22B of Richie Biswell and the #M1 of Dale Munson sent both cars spinning off the high side of the backstretch and into the mine tires. Munson was able to continue, but Biswell suffered major damage, and the #22B car left on a hook, ending his chances for a good finish tonight. A car that was greatly improving his chances for a good finish was the #192 of Brian Allen. Allen lined up at the beginning of the race WAY BACK in the 20th spot, but by a lap #5 restart, Allen had already passed 8 cars, and had his sights set on moving up into the top 10. Another car on the move was the #17 of Rick Scott, Jr. Scott, who started back in 8th, was on Anderson's back bumper and racing in the top 3 by lap #5! If Hibser had a rearview mirror, he would have loved seeing what was going on behind him. Anderson, Scott, the #C40 of Mike Chasteen and the #96 of Kirk Anderson were all racing each other hard, lap after lap, leaving Hibser out front in clean air from start to finish. While there was LOTS of GREAT racing going on throughout the entire race, the top five were up front to stay by lap #2! Jim Hibser scored another strong Modified Feature win for the #28 racing team, leading the Feature for ALL 20 circuits! The #31 of Mark Anderson finished the race in 2nd place, followed by the #17 of Rick Scott, Jr. in 3rd place, the #C40 of Mike Chasteen in 4th place, and the #96 of Kirk Anderson in 5th place.

The #12T of Tom Turnbull may have in 2nd place to start the Pro Street Feature, but Turnbull was around the pole-sitter, the #00 of Steve Harper, and in the lead before they scored lap #1. The #18 of Terry Pratt quickly moved up from 4th place starting position, up into the 2nd spot, but he spun coming out of turn #2 while making a challenge for the lead, and had to restart lap #2 from the back of the pack. The #27 of Greg Arnett was able to get around the #81K of Mark Ross on the restart, and he moved into the 2nd spot behind Turnbull, but Pratt WAS COMING! Pratt made a VERY IMPRESSIVE move, coming all the way from the back, and splitting Arnett & Turnbull to take over the lead by lap #3. And once Terry Pratt was out front, he stayed out front!! By lap #5, the entire field was spread out and running single file, and they stayed that way until the end. Terry Pratt scored another very impressive Pro Street Feature win for the #18 racing team. The #27 of Greg Arnett had a strong 2nd place finish, followed by the #81K of Mark Ross in 3rd place, the #12T of Tom Turnbull in 4th place, and the #00 of Steve Harper in 5th place.

The Late Model recaps are beginning to sound like a broken record! The #11 of "Bad" Brad Denney has all but completely dominated the Late Model division all season, and tonight was no exception! Denney was out front from the very start, and by lap #4, he a complete straightaway lead over the 2nd place car, the #M40 of Scott "Scooter" May, who also had a good straightaway lead over the 3rd place car, the #30 of Rob Bauman. With these guys stretching it out so early in the race, it was also no surprise that lap traffic came into play by lap #8. Denney and May made their way through lap traffic so quickly; I'm surprised they didn't peel the numbers off the cars they were passing!! There was some GREAT racing for position going on deeper in the field. The #4C of Rob Colson and the #B12 of Roger Nelson were battling back and forth for the 4th spot, and the #10M of Chad Pratt was right behind them, waiting for something to open up in front of him. The Late Models ran 20 caution-free laps tonight, which meant that Denney had a HUMUNGOUS lead over the rest of the field, nearly lapping the 4th place car! It's a good place the track is oval, because if it was in a straight line, Denney might have to claim his checkered flag somewhere down around Banner! Once again, Brad Denney literally "checked out" on the rest of the competition, and took home another Late Model Feature win for the #11 racing team! The #M40 of Scott "Scooter" May ran a lonely race from start to finish, and finished all by himself in 2nd place, followed by the #30 of Rob Bauman in 3rd, the #B12 of Roger Nelson in 4th, and the #10M of Chad Pratt took home the 5th place finish.

The #06 of John Nash, Jr. started on the pole in tonight's Hobo feature, and Nash led the first few laps, until the #23B of Clint Rich was able to get around him and move into the lead. The #11 of Scott Denney and the #35 of Josh Smith were racing each other hard for the 3rd spot, with the #02 of Greg Sullivan and the #19 of Durland Pople right behind them. Denney was running good on the high side, but he got a little too high in turns #1 and #2, went spinning off the high side, and the caution was out for the first time on lap #7. Smith got a GREAT jump on the restart and got on the outside of Nash, and by lap #8, Smith was able to complete the pass and move up into the 2nd spot behind Rich. Smith was also running the high side of the track, and he was able to pull alongside Rich by lap #9, challenging for the lead coming out of turn #2. Rich was able to hold off the challenge, and by lap #11, he was also able to out a little "breathing room" between himself and Smith. Denney, who had to restart in the back of the pack on lap #7, was making his way back up front in a hurry. By lap #10, Denney was back into the top five, and was ALL OVER Nash's back bumper. Out front and in clean air, the #23B of Clint Rich raced his way to victory lane to score tonight's Hobo Feature win. The #35 of Josh Smith finished the Feature in 2nd place, followed by the #06 of John Nash, Jr. in 3rd place, the #11 of Scott Denney in 4th place, and the #02 of Greg Sullivan in 5th place.
