The racing started with E-Mod Heat #1. The #30 of Robbie Bauman may have started 3rd, but by turn #2 he was up front and in the lead, bringing the #4 of John Winters with him into the 2nd spot. Bauman opened up a nice lead, but it was cut short by a lap #3 caution. A good restart allowed Bauman to open up another BIG lead, with Winters also pulling away from the rest of the field and running in the 2nd spot all alone. Behind the leaders, the #5 of Jake Helfers, the #3M of Chris McMahill, and the #42 of Tim Bishop were racing hard for the 3rd position. Robbie Bauman easily held onto the lead and scored the win. John Winters finished 2nd, followed by Jake Helfers, and Tim Bishop. The #1 of Floyd Jordan, Jr. may have started 5th in E-Mod Heat #2, but he was up to 2nd on the first lap, and was able to take the lead from the #M17 of Brent Munson on lap #2. Behind the race leaders, the #64 of Jim Picardi and the #7W of Mark Branch were side by side, battling for the 4th spot, trying to catch the #29 of Chad Terwillger, who was running in 3rd. Terwillger spun on lap #4, bringing out the caution, and moving Branch and Picardi into the 3rd and 4th spots, where they continued to battle until the end of the race. Floyd Jordan, Jr. was able to hold the lead and bring home the checkered flag. Brent Munson finished 2nd, followed by Mark Branch, and Jim Picardi. The #25 of Phil Schnarr started on the pole in E-Mod heat #3, and out front is where Schnarr stayed. The #30 of Rob Bauman, Sr. and the #96 of Kirk Anderson fought hard throughout the entire race for the 2nd spot, with the #5 of Jerry Shraver right behind them in 4th. With all the side-by-side racing going on behind him, Phil Schnarr easily held onto the lead and took home the checkered flag. Rob Bauman, Sr. finished 2nd, followed by Kirk Anderson, and Jerry Shraver. The #17 of Rick Scott started on the pole in Modified Heat #1, and out front is where he stayed, followed by the #34 of Bill Anderson in 2nd. The #28 of Jimmy Hibser and the #42 of Matt Smith battled for the 3rd spot all the way through the race, with another fight for 5th going on behind them between the #192 of Brian Allen and the #26 of JD Beal. Rick Scott opened up a BIG lead, and easily took home the win. Bill Anderson finished all alone in 2nd, followed by Jimmy Hibser, and Brian Allen. The #98, being driven tonight by Dale Munson, may have started in the 3rd spot, but by lap #2 he was around his son, the #M21 of Justin Munson, and into the lead. Dale & Justin raced each other hard all the way through the race, with the #22B of Richie Biswell right behind them in 3rd. The pole sitter, Casey Lappin, spun on lap #3 and restarted in the back, but he quickly moved his way through traffic and back up into the 4th spot. Dale Munson held off the challenge from his son and took home the win. Justin Munson finished 2nd, followed by Richie Biswell, and Casey Lappin. The #12 of Eddie Bolander started on the pole in Modified Heat #4, with the #28 of Phil Schnarr right behind him. Schnarr and Bolander traded the lead back and forth a couple of times the first 2 laps, but the two made contact coming out of turn #4, got stuck together, and both went HARD into the front stretch wall. Schnarr was able to continue, but Bolander suffered considerable damage and left on a hook. Schnarr got a good jump on the restart and opened up a "comfy" lead, but there was a lot of "paint tradin'" going on behind him between the #5 of Mike Donaho, the #71 of George Hall, the #5 of Darryl Hunter, the #23S of Flip Shickel, and the #4W of Mike Whitledge, all racing each other hard for position. Phil Schnarr stayed out front and took home another checkered flag, followed by Mike Donaho, George Hall, and Mike Whitledge. The #35 of Josh Smith started on the pole in Hobo Heat #1, but he had LOTS of company from start to finish. The #22 of Greg Sullivan, the #01 of Rick Diegel, and the #47 of Andy Yerbic were all over Smith's back bumper, trading spots back and forth every lap of the way. Sullivan, Yerbic, and Diegel were racing each other so closely, that it was "too close to call" at the start finish line more laps than not. Josh Smith was able to hold them all off and bring home the win. Greg Sullivan made a nice pass on the last lap to finish in 2nd, followed by Rick Diegel in 3rd, and Andy Yerbic in 4th. The #99 of Bill Wilhelm started on the pole in Hobo Heat #2, and he also stayed out front all the way to the checkered flag. The #77 of Cliff Howard, who started in the back, was up into 2nd by lap #1, but the #8 of Eric Wisher was all over his back bumper challenging for the position by lap #2. There was a lot great racing between Howard and Wisher, which allowed Wilhelm to open up a nice lead. Bill Wilhelm easily scored the win, followed by Cliff Howard, Eric Wisher, and Nick Christian. The #77T of Willie Heinz started 3rd on Hobo Heat #3, but he was moving up fast and into the lead coming by the time he reached the backstretch. Something went away on the #5 of Danny Glover, Jr, and he had to pull off the track, leaving only Heinz and the #5J of Jim Jorgenson. Willie Heinz opened up a HUGE lead, and easily brought home another win. Jim Jorgenson finished in 2nd. Morey Denney started on the pole in Late Model Heat #1, but he had a "whole rearview mirror full" of the #68 of Lance Alcorn in a hurry. Denney and Alcorn battled for the lead, with the #14 of Brent Nelson and the #45 of Dwayne Walters right behind them fighting for 3rd & 4th spots. Alcorn was able to get around Denney and take the lead by lap #2, while at the same time, Nelson got around Walters to move into 3rd. Lance Alcorn stayed out front and scored the win. Morey Denney finished 2nd, followed by Brent Nelson, and Dwayne Walters. The #11 of Brad Denney may have started deep in the field in Late Model Heat #2, but he was up to 2nd on the first lap, and by lap #4 he made his way around the #19 of Tim Morris and moved into the lead. Morris and the #29J of Lindell Jewel raced side by side for the 2nd spot, with the #77 of Jim Hagedorn right behind them. Jewel got around Morris for 2nd on lap #5, brining Hagedorn along with him. Brad Denney scored the convincing win, followed by Lindell Jewel, Jim Hagedorn, and Tim Morris. Scott May also started deep in the field in Late Model Heat #3, but he was up into the battle for 2nd with the #M1 of Dale Munson and the #30 of Rob Bauman by lap #2, and was able to get around the #10M of Chad Pratt for the lead by lap #4. The #7 of Will Daniels, the #M1 of Dale Munson, and Pratt raced hard for the 2nd spot, but Pratt was able to hold them off and keep the position. Once again, Scott May opens up a BIG lead on the rest of the field, and brings home the win. Chad Pratt finished 2nd, followed by Will Daniels, and Dale Munson. The #52 of Don Cooley started on the pole in Pro Street Heat #1, but he had a lot of company coming down the backstretch with the #5 of David Harris making a challenge for the lead. Harris was able to move into the lead in turns #3 & #4 on lap #1. The field got pretty spread out from there, with no real challenges for position. David Harris scored a convincing win, followed by Don Cooley, and the #69 of Tim Faulkenberry. The #27 of Greg Arnett started 3rd in Pro Street Heat #2, by he was moving up fast, and took the lead on the 1st lap. The #00 of Steve Harper, who was running in 2nd, spun coming out of turn #4 when he lost his drive shaft. The field got spread WAY out after the restart, with no real racing for position. Greg Arnett easily scored the victory, followed by the #81K of Mark Ross, the #C27 of Jim Carter, and the #51S of Smokey Nidiffer.
The #55 of Roger Nelson and the #77 of Jeff Reedy were the only two trucks in Thunder Truck Heat #1. Reedy appeared to be having problems, with LOTS of smoke coming from the #77 truck. Roger Nelson was able to open up a BIG lead, and easily scored the win, with Jeff Reddy finishing in 2nd. The #30 of Gerald Carter started 2nd in Thunder Truck Heat #2, but he moved up and into the lead on the first lap, with the #8 of Dave Collins right behind him. The #28 of Ron Wilson was moving up in a hurry also, but his progress was cut short when he hit the mine tire and had to pull into the pits with a flat tire. The #7 of Greg Wells and the #31 of Harry Fourdyce had a good battle going for the 3rd spot until Wells spun and had to restart in the back. Carter and Collins got a nice jump on the restart, and opened up a "comfy" lead on the rest of the field. The #26 of Ryan Wilson made a last lap challenge for the 3rd spot, but Fourdyce was able to hold him off. Gerald Carter scored another win, followed by Dave Collins, Harry Fourdyce, and Ryan Wilson.
The E-Mod Feature was ALL the #25 of Phil Schnarr. Schnarr started 2nd, but got around the #4 of John Winters into the lead on lap #1, and stayed out front all the way to the finish. Winters had A LOT of smoke coming from his car from the very beginning of the race, but it managed to hold together, and he had little trouble holding onto the 2nd spot. The two leaders may have been out front alone, but there was PLENTY of GREAT racing going on behind them for position. The #M17 of Brent Munson and the #1 of Floyd Jordan, Jr. battled for the 3rd spot for several laps, with the #30's of both Rob Bauman, Sr. and Rob Bauman, Jr. all over their back bumpers just waiting for a hole to open up ahead of them. Jordan got sideways coming out of turn #2, and Munson had nowhere to go, spinning into the mine tires and brining out the caution. Bauman, Sr. was able to get under Winters for 2nd on the restart, but Winters fought back, taking the 2nd spot back for himself, still LOTS of smoke coming from the #4. With all the racing for position going on, it was hard to tell exactly how he managed it, but the #96 of Kirk Anderson, who started all the way back on the 10th spot, had raced his way up and into the top 5 by lap #12, and got under Jordan to take the 4th spot on the last lap. Phil Schnarr took home another checkered flag, convincingly winning the feature. John Winters, who looked like he was having engine trouble from the very start, finished a strong 2nd, followed by Rob Baum, Sr., Kirk Anderson, and Floyd Jordan, Jr.
Everyone got a glimpse of the last minute rule changes that Oscar was talking about. The Modified feature was next on the agenda, and there was considerable controversy before the race even started. The #97P of Phil Johns, who was sent off the track by the officials during the Semi-Feature for rough driving, was listed on the Feature line up as a "provisional" starter. Drivers, fans, crewmembers, and even some of the track officials were confused and upset by the ruling, but the executive decision was that the Semi-Feature incident was accidental, and the #97P started the show from the last row. The #25 of Butch Weisser may have started in the 6th spot, but by lap #3, he was up to 3rd and all over the back bumper of the 2nd place car, the #31 of Mark Anderson. Phil Schnarr started on the pole, but the #28 car seemed to be having problems, loosing several spots in a hurry, and eventually pulling off the track, leaving Anderson and Weisser in a battle for the lead. A couple of cars that started deep in the field, the #192 of Brian Allen and the #28 of Jimmy Hibser, were moving up fast, and they were a battle for 3rd with the #17 of Rick Scott and the #5 of Mike Donaho by lap #10. Several cars got together on lap #10, bringing out the caution. Weisser got an AWESOME jump on the restart, and opened up a little breathing room between him and Anderson. Mark Anderson and Brian Allen raced side-by-side for several laps, trading the 2nd spot back and forth, allowing Hibser to close the gap between them join in the 2nd place battle. Butch Weisser had no trouble holding on to the lead and bringing home another feature win. Mark Anderson finished in the 2nd spot, followed by Jimmy Hibser, Brian Allen, and Rick Scott. We'd like to send out a big "CONGRATULATIONS" to Butch Weisser and the #25 racing team. Weisser ran at a different track the night before, was involved in a major accident, suffered SEVERE damage, and brought home a car that appeared to be "junk". The entire team literally worked ALL night to put the #25 back together again just to get it here for tonight's race, and even better than that, they brought home the FEATURE WIN! This is a great example of all the hard work and extra effort that ALL the crewmembers, as well as the drivers, put in week after week. GREAT JOB!!!!!!
The #8 of Eric Wisher started on the pole in the Hobo Feature, and he stayed our front all the way to the checkered flag. The #77 of Cliff Howard, who started in the 4th position, was making a move towards the front on the start, but he got into another car and was set spinning HARD into the front stretch mine tires. The ambulance was immediately called to the track to make sure Howard wasn't injured, which is something no one likes to see. Cliff was put into the ambulance to be checked out, but fortunately he was OK and was quickly released. Wisher got a nice jump on the restart, and by lap #3, he had a "comfy" lead, but there was a great battle going on behind him for 2nd between the #01 of Rick Diegel, the #77T of Willie Heinz, and the #99 of Bill Wilhelm. With all the racing going on behind him, Wisher was able to "check out" on the rest of the field, and he convincingly scored the feature win. Willie Heinz made a GREAT last lap pass to bring home the 2nd place finish, followed by Rick Diegel, Bill Wilhelm, and Josh Smith. The #M40 of Scott May was the pole sitter in the Late Model Feature, and the #11 of Brad Denny started 2nd, and if you let these two start up front, it's a pretty safe bet that that's where they'll finish!! The #68 of Lance Alcorn, who started 3rd, got around Denney on a lap #6 restart to move into the 2nd spot, but Denney came right back around him to take the position back, and was able to put a little breathing room between himself and the rest of the field. May and Denney ran the rest of the race all alone out front, but there was plenty of great racing going on behind them. Alcorn soon had LOTS of company, with the #10M of Chad Pratt, the #M1 of Dale Munson, the #29J of Lindell Jewel, and the #F13 of Dawn Mennel all joining in the battle for 3rd. There was contact between Jewel and Munson on lap #16, pushing Munson off the high side in turns #3 & #4, and Dale was forced to pull into the pits with a flat tire. Jewel, who was all over the back bumper of Alcorn, was able finally able to get around Alcorn on lap #18, and move into the 2nd position. Scott May held onto the lead through the entire race to bring home another Feature win. Brad Denney finished in 2nd, followed by Lindell Jewel, Lance Alcorn, and Dawn Mennel. The #18 of Terry Pratt may have started in the 2nd spot in the Pro Street Feature, but he was around the #51 of Don Cooley and into the lead on the 1st lap. Pratt wasn't alone though, The #27 of Greg Arnett and the #81K of Mark Ross were also up to the front in a hurry, and challenging for the lead, with the #5 of David Harris and the #C27 of Jim Carter right behind them battling for 4th. On lap #5 restart, Arnett went low, Pratt took the middle groove, and Ross went high, coming down the front stretch THREE WIDE for the lead! Pratt won the race at the start-finish line, and was in the lead coming into turn #1, with Ross moving into the 2nd spot behind him, and Arnett in 3rd. Carter, who started all the way back in the 8th spot, was able to catch Arnett, and by lap #13 he was able to get around the #27 and move up into the 3rd position. These guys raced each other hard all the way through this feature, side-by-side from start to finish. Pratt was able to hold off Ross until the end, and Terry Pratt brought home the Pro Street Feature win. Mark Ross finished 2nd, followed by Jim Carter, Greg Arnett, and David Harris. The #31 of Harry Fourdyce lined up in the 4th spot for the Thunder Truck Feature, but he was side by side with the #7 of Greg Wells in a battle for 2nd on the first lap. The #88 of Dave Collins, who jumped to an early lead, spun coming out of turn #2, and collected the #30 of Gerald Carter, who had nowhere to go, and both trucks went to the pits with considerable damage. Fourdyce assumed the lead on the restart, but he wasn't alone; the #55 of Roger Nelson, who started all the way in the back, the #8 of Collins were right behind him and racing each other hard for the 2nd spot. Collins was able to put some room between himself and Nelson, and he then set his sights back on the race leader. By lap #10, Collins was finally able to get around Fourdyce and took the lead, but Fourdyce wasn't giving up. By lap #13, Fourdyce got back around Collins for the lead, and Harry Fourdyce held off the competition and brought home the Feature win. The #8 of Dave Collins finished 2nd, followed by Roger Nelson, Jeff Reedy, and Greg Wells.
