Gary Cook Jr. Memorial Canceled for Sunday, May 26 at Spoon River Speedway

Gary Cook Jr. Memorial Canceled for Sunday, May 26 at Spoon River Speedway

FAIRBURY, IL (May 25) Due to the projected heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms beginning tomorrow morning, officials with the MARS Championship Tours and track personnel at Spoon River Speedway have made the tough decision to cancel tomorrow’s scheduled Gary Cook Jr. Memorial at Spoon River Speedway.

With forecast models in agreement on heavy rain and thunderstorms battering the area beginning tomorrow morning, officials feel as if this is the best option with drivers, teams, and fans safety, and time, in mind.

This event will not be rescheduled but both the MARS Late Model Championship Powered by FK Rod Ends and MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment look forward to the Plowboy Nationals on Sunday, September 1 at Spoon River Speedway to cap off a 3-night Labor Day weekend swing.

The MARS Late Model Championship Powered by FK Rod Ends and MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment will have a short break over the month of June before returning to action for 3 straight nights of action at Farmer City Raceway, Federated Auto Parts Raceway @ I-55, and Adams County Speedway on July 19-21.
